Privacy Policy

Updated October 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Meal Food ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information through https://themealfood.com (the "Site"), and describes your rights and choices, including those under US state privacy laws.

1. What we collect

Emails

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you include and your message.

Seasonal plan requests

The seasonal plan form collects your first name and email address (required), an optional phone number, your region, the season you choose, your household size, where you usually get produce, dietary needs, any notes you add (such as allergies or dislikes), the date and time of your request, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older and agree to our use of this information.

This information is used only to prepare and email your plan and to respond to your follow-up questions. It is not used for marketing, not added to any mailing list, not sold and not shared for targeted advertising. Requests are emailed to our team and a copy is kept in a server folder that the public cannot access. If you include allergy or health information in your notes, you choose to share it, and we use it only to tailor your plan.

Automatic information

Our web host records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request, for security and maintenance. If we enable analytics or advertising, those providers may collect device identifiers, activity on the Site and approximate location through cookies and similar technologies.

Season finder

The season finder works inside your browser using information already on the page. Your selections are not sent to us.

2. How we use it

3. Google advertising, analytics and cookies

Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Google Ads may be used on this Site.

Read about how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and see our Cookie Use page.

4. Disclosure

We disclose personal information to service providers that help run the Site, such as our hosting and email providers, who must protect it. If analytics or advertising are enabled, cookie data goes to those providers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of others.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some state laws may treat advertising cookies as a "sale" or as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time, as explained below.

5. Retention

Seasonal plan requests and emails are deleted within 12 months, or sooner if you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them. Server logs follow our host's retention period; analytics and advertising data follow each provider's settings.

6. Your US state privacy rights

Depending on your state — for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon or another state with a consumer privacy law — you may have the right to:

Requests: email [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject line and tell us what you'd like us to do. We verify requests by confirming them through the email address linked to your information. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where state law permits. If we deny your request, reply with "Appeal" in the subject line and we will respond within the time required by law.

Opt out: visit Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out request.

California "Shine the Light": we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

7. Children

The Site is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Seasonal plan requests are limited to people 18 and older. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

The Site uses HTTPS, and plan requests are stored in a folder blocked from public access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Do Not Track

Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals have no common standard, so we don't respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the date at the top. For significant changes we'll post a notice on the Site.
